What does Otelia Tate offer?
Otelia Tate allows customers to rent, sell or buy authentic, quality luxury handbags. Otelia Tate conducts drops whereby customers can book their chosen handbag for three week periods, in advance.
How does renting with Otelia Tate Work?
Potential renters must create an account and be approved for their first purchase with a credit/background check to rent out a handbag. Please see our terms & conditions for more information.

Can I rent more than one handbag at a time?
After your second successful handbag rental and for an additional fee, you may be permitted to rent out more than one handbag at a time. In any case, you may book another handbag in advance for another time period while in possession of a single handbag. We advise you to move quickly if you see a bag you like.
How long can I keep a piece?
Rental periods are for three-week intervals. If you would like to rent for more than 3 weeks, you should reach out as soon as possible, before another person reserves the handbag for you preferred time period.
What are drops? And how often does Otelia Tate have drops
Drops are curated releases of high-quality and high-demand handbags. Otelia Tate does at least one new drop per month. You must select a a hanbag before the drop is over if you are interested in a specific handbag. The handbags will be shipped out to you on the specified ship date.
When will I receive the rental?
We can only guarantee the ship date of the handbags—which will be provided before checkout. You should receive the handbag anywhere from 2-7 days from that ship date, depending on the shipping options available and chosen for that handbag.
Are there any rent-to-own options?
Yes, Otelia Tate periodically conducts sales of handbags at highly discounted rates. Depending on the handbag, the time of year and whether the handbag is currently in your possession, we may provide as much as a 20% discount off the general sales price depending on the item.
Can I sell my handbag?
Yes, you may sell your handbag with us. Please select the ‘Sell With Us’ from the top menu to do so. We prioritize certain brands and handbags; however, we are open to considering others. Please complete the inquiry form and we will promptly reach out if your handbag is of interest. At that time we will ask for photos and then make a conditional offer. With your approval and at our cost (as long as the handbag is authentic), the handbag will be shipped to us and go through a process of condition examination and authentication before a final offer is given. We seek to make the best offer for your handbag, with consideration for the bag’s condition and demand, amongst other factors. While we cover the cost of authentication and shipping if the handbag is authentic, whether or not you accept our final offer, we do charge a fee of $75 to compensate for time & shipping if the handbag is found to be inauthentic.
What happens if the handbag is lost or stolen while I am renting it?
Unfortunately, similar to the policies of other luxury item rental services, if you lose the handbag or if it is stolen while in your possession, you must cover the full cost of the handbag. We very much empathize with you if you are in this situation (and will happily unlock your closet for more rentals after repayment), but unfortunately, our insurance does not cover this situation.
What happens if I damage the handbag while renting it?
Minor damage to the handbag is covered by our insurance policy. However, similar to our policy for lost/stolen bags, customers are liable for the cost of replacement in cases of excessive damage.
